Thinking of Visiting?
Sunday School: 9:45 AM – Our church family gathers for study of the Bible for all ages in a classroom setting. We study God’s Word for the purpose of learning its meaning and understanding how to apply it in daily living.
Worship Service: 11:00 AM – Following Sunday school we all gather in the church auditorium. The atmosphere leading up to the service is relaxed and friendly, yet thoughtful about the coming service. Our pianist will play a musical prelude to help prepare our hearts. Our purpose is to give glory to God for Who He is and what He has done. Each aspect of our service is designed to that end.
Music: The congregational hymns sung during the service will usually follow a theme consistent with the pastor’s message. As we sing, we encourage one another in the truths we believe. Both the texts and the tunes of the songs are used to focus on the perfections, beauty, and grace of our great God through the sacrifice of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. To that end, the tunes to which we sing are carefully composed to sound distinctively different from popular secular music.
Scripture Reading: Embedded within the preaching of God’s Word will be the reading of the Scriptures. Since the Bible is God’s speech in print, we are actually listening to Him when the Bible is read.
Prayer: A significant part of our services will include both public and private prayer. As we do so, we encourage one another to speak to God directly with our requests, acknowledging our need to hear from Him and depend on Him.
Giving: Giving financially to the Lord through the church is an act of worship whereby Christians acknowledge that all their material wealth has come from God. Guests should feel under no obligation to give simply because they have attended the service.
Preaching and Teaching: The sermon will occupy at least half of our approximately one hour service. Typically the message will be a verse by verse exposition of a particular passage, and sometimes of an entire book of the Bible through a series of messages. Most importantly, preaching is an exposition and explanation of what God’s Word means. It must be read carefully, explained accurately, illustrated wisely, and applied practically.
